Sober Living
Highlife Sober Living* is a structured transitional community for men and women ages 18 and above. We promote mind, body and spiritual changes through the combination of Twelve-step programs (AA/NA), structure and accountability provided by our staff and community design. Highlife Sober Living is located at 3831 Walnut Creek Drive Columbus, OH 43224.

Is my insurance accepted?We accept Medicaid and most private insurance. We also have self-payment options, and will work with you regardless of your insurance status. If we can't help you, we will find you someone who can.

What if I do not have insurance or cannot afford your program?We will do whatever we can to make our program available to you. Please call us to discuss your options.

Are you accepting new clients?We are always accepting new clients for any of our programs, call us and talk to our admissions coordinator to figure out what program works best for you!

What kind of programs do you offer?We offer outpatient services including intensive outpatient, outpatient, aftercare, individual mental health and addiction counseling, and individual case management. We also offer sober living for clients who are looking for a structured recovery community.

How quickly can I get admitted into your program?Although admission is based on availability, we do our best to get you in within a few days, with the goal of same-day admission.

Am I able to go to different offices if I need to?All clients will have access to any of our 4 locations for any services they might need.

Do I have an option for telehealth services?All clients have the option for telehealth if they are unable to attend in person for individual or group counseling.

I have a busy work schedule, are you able to work around that?Absolutely, after a client completes an assessment they will have a discussion with a counselor and talk about the different pathways that Highlife has to offer.

Can you send updates to courts or probation officers?Yes, we provide comprehensive case management. Your case manager will be able to help you coordinate any updates needed for legal purposes.

Do you treat adolescents?Highlife Recovery is an 18+ program. We would be happy to provide referrals to other great programs that treat minors.

How long is your Sober Living Program?Our Sober Living program takes approximately 1 year to complete, and you do not have to complete the program in order to participate in it. Additionally, we have no set maximum time for how long one can remain a participant in our Sober Living program.

Is 12-step work a part of the program?Yes. 12-step meetings are an integral part of our program. Participants are required to go to 12-step meetings on a weekly basis while also obtaining a sponsor and a home group.

Is there a curfew?Yes, the curfew is 10pm Sunday – Thursday and 12am Friday – Saturday. Participants will need to make sure to be back at Sober Living at or before those times.

Am I allowed to have my phone?Yes, you can use your phone with full access to Wi-Fi as well.

Am I allowed to work? Am I able to keep my current job?We require our participants to obtain a job within 30 days of their initial move in. Also, if you already have a job, we try our best to work with what your current job is.

What is the structure of sober living like?We have three phases at our sober living program, which are based on accountability & structure to compliment the participant's recovery objectives. As participants move through these phases, they gain more independence, motivating them to continue taking steps forward in their recovery.

Will I be required to drug test?Yes, randomized drug testing is required as part of the structure & accountability of our program.

What does the day to day look like?Your day to day schedule will be largely determined by you. Participants are required to attend twelve-step or self-help meetings, house meetings, be enrolled in treatment services and abide by curfew, along with other guidelines to help create a healthy lifestyle. We also organize group outings for events like go-kart racing, horseback riding, etc., which is all covered under your program fees.
